Storytelling and serial storytelling competition held at Leaders School and College Chittagong

The Storyteller-Serial Storytelling Competition was celebrated today, September 6, 2026, at Leaders School and College, a renowned educational institution in Chittagong, established with the motto of “building good people.” The event, organized in the light of the institution’s own “Leaders Education Model—2018,” was filled with great enthusiasm and joyful atmosphere.

The importance of storytelling in guest speeches

Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Ziauddin was present as the chief guest at the event. In his speech, he said that the practice of storytelling is closely linked to the history of civilization. Urging the students to continue practicing storytelling, he said that the inspiration gained from this event will help them develop into skilled storytellers in the future.

The program featured the keynote speaker, fiction writer and educationist Dr. Anwara Alam. Pediatrician Dr. Bhagyadhan Barua was present as a special guest. The story-telling episode was conducted by Muhammad Mohiuddin, editor of Golpakaar Sahitya Patrika and fiction writer.

Principal’s welcome speech

The program was presided over by the institution’s principal, Colonel Abu Naser Md. Toha, BSP, SGP, AFWC, PSC (Retd.). In his welcome speech, he highlighted the importance of students’ participation in co-curricular activities and gave detailed descriptions of the institution’s various co-curricular activities including storytelling and public speaking.

Hundreds of students participated

The venue was festive with hundreds of students from the school in attendance. A total of 10 students from classes 9 and 7 participated in the main series of storytelling competition. In addition, an open general knowledge competition was organized for the students, from which 5 winners were awarded.

The top three winners of the serial storytelling competition were awarded prizes by the Golkar magazine to each participating student. The guests attending the event were also given gifts by Leaders School and College.

Gratitude

At the end of the program, the principal thanked the organizing newspaper Golpokar, the organizing committee, and everyone involved, including the students and parents who participated in the program.
