USTC EEE Alumni Association Convening Committee Formed

The convening committee of the EEE Alumni Association has been formed by former students of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department of the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) in Chittagong.

This initiative has been taken to increase mutual communication among alumni, strengthen professional networking, and work collectively for the academic and overall development of the department.

A recent alumni meetup was attended by around 30 alumni from different batches of the department. The meeting discussed in detail the current situation of the department, membership of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), accreditation process of Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), student admission process, and various demands and expectations of alumni.

During this time, information was collected from alumni to prepare the necessary documentation for the accreditation process. In addition, emphasis was placed on improving the quality of education in the department, enhancing professional skills, and actively participating in the career development of current students.

Abdullah Al Rifat Adnan (Shaon) of the first batch has been elected as the president and Pritam Sengupta as the vice president of the newly formed convening committee. Kazi Arafat of the seventh batch has been appointed as the general secretary and Rana Bhattacharya of the second batch has been appointed as the joint secretary.

Other responsible persons of the committee are – Organizing Secretary Iftekhar Alam Sagar, Program Secretary Ziaul Mubarak (13th batch), Treasurers Nurul Absar Rubel and Rajibul Sohrab Raju, Media and Communication Secretary Mehroz Afsana Zaman (ETE, third batch), Women’s Welfare Secretary Farhana Nazneen Mumu (7th batch) and Office Secretary SM Minhajul Alam (17th batch).

The committee’s advisors are Associate Professor Dr. Syed Munimus Salam, Chairman of the EEE Department of USTC, and Associate Professor Mohammad Shahdat Hossain.

The newly formed committee will work to increase unity and cooperation among alumni, exchange experiences, expand professional contacts, develop the careers of current students, and advance the academic and professional advancement of the department.

The concerned expressed the hope that this initiative will create an effective bridge between the former and current students of the USTC EEE Department. At the same time, the quality of education, professional recognition, and participation of alumni in the future development of the department will be further strengthened.
