The Postal Department says that sending the first 1 kg parcel anywhere in the country will cost only 10 taka. For more than this, only 5 taka will be added for each additional kg. The maximum weight of a parcel in the Speedpost service can be up to 30 kg.

Director General of the Postal Department, Kazi Asadul Islam, said that the Speedpost service has already started gaining popularity and customers are regularly sending various types of products including dry food items, honey, oil through this service. He said that initially, a few bicycles and cycles have also been sent through this service on an experimental basis. He said that it is possible to deliver products from Dhaka to any district and city of the country within 24 hours. However, in marginal or remote districts and upazilas, it currently takes 72 hours, which the Director General said is being reduced.

Speedpost has been officially announced through a circular as a specialized parcel service of the Bangladesh Postal Department.
